The design of this model recognizes the history of Seikos in space, the dial is graduated and the bezel is in two-tone glass and are inspired by the view of the skyline from the international space station. Updated from the original, the angles are sharper and amplify the brightness of the watch while the center of gravity is lowered by shape alterations on the side and back of the case. The LX collection is named after Latin Lux for light due to the sharp angles within the design, which refract the light and give a true brilliance to any surface. This model incorporates the Spring Drive movement, a watch movement pioneered by Seiko Watch Corporations engineers. Spring Drive generates power like a conventional mechanical watch, with a mainspring, but combines it with an electronic regulator to provide a superior level of accuracy, without ever requiring battery replacement.
