Exploring the depths of the ocean, OMEGA has expanded its ceramic expertise to create the Seamaster Planet Ocean "Deep Black". This extraordinary 45.5mm timepiece is born from the combination of a GMT model with a diving watch, The addition of blue indicates the last color visible in the ocean at a depth of approximately 275 meters.
The matte case is made from a single block of ceramic and for the first time rubber has been combined with ceramic to create a one-of-a-kind unidirectional bezel. This innovative touch of color covers the first 15 minutes of the graduated scale, while the other 45 minutes are of Liquimetal®. Other blue rubber inserts can be seen in the OMEGA logo on the crown and on the helium valve.
The black ceramic dial is complemented by a GMT ring and blue Arabic numerals, as well as brushed 18K white gold indexes and hands with white Super-LumiNova coating. Another OMEGA absolute novelty, the caseback is oriented in such a way that the engraved text maintains its position. This feature is achieved thanks to OMEGA's new patented Naiad Lock ceramic closure.
Other features include a screw-down caseback with honeycomb pattern and a black rubber strap with blue stitching and antibacterial treatment. The Planet Ocean "Deep Black" is water resistant to 600 meters / 60 bar and is powered by the OMEGA caliber 8906 Master Chronometer. To obtain the status of Master Chronometer, it has passed the 8 rigorous tests established by METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology) .
