CAL. 82200
A clear and legible dial, with the characteristic minute scale and small seconds at "6 o'clock": at the end of the 1930s, the IWC Reference 325 model established a new concept of classic design which has since then characterized history unceasingly of the Portugieser family. Today, this modern and timeless design returns to be the protagonist of the collection thanks to a new automatic model with a compact 40 mm diameter case. The Portugieser Automatic 40 is animated by the IWC-manufactured 82200 caliber. This robust and high-quality automatic movement is equipped with a Pellaton winding system with components made of practically wear-resistant ceramic, which allows you to accumulate a 60-hour power reserve. This model features a stainless steel case, a silvered dial and blue applied hands and indexes and is accompanied by a blue alligator leather strap. Thanks to the brand new butterfly clasp, the watch is particularly comfortable on the wrist. The IWC-manufactured 82000 caliber is linked to the tradition of high-quality automatic movements from IWC. It features the efficient IWC Pellaton automatic winding system, which uses both directions of the rotor to wind the barrel spring. As in the IWC-manufactured 52000 caliber family, the components of the system subject to high stresses, such as the ratchets, the automatic wheel or the cam, are ceramic. Thanks to the use of this high-tech material, they are practically immune to wear. The efficient automatic refill system provides a range of travel of at least 60 hours to the barrel spring. The racket-less balance with flat spiral oscillates at a frequency of 4 hertz (28,800 vibrations per hour), ensuring a high level of precision.
