The 18-karat red gold case has a diameter of 44 millimeters and a thickness of 17 millimeters and is therefore majestic and imposing. The manufacturers mounted the tourbillon cage on the original second wheel at "6 o'clock", while the chronograph function counter is positioned at "12 o'clock". The retrograde date indication extends to the left side of the dial creating a slightly curved arch. At the 31st of the month the hand automatically returns to the initial position. The IWC 89900-manufactured caliber allows precise time adjustment per second thanks to the tourbillon stop device. The anchor and the anchor wheel are made of diamond-coated silicon, an extremely hard surface with good sliding properties that reduce friction and therefore wear. Furthermore, the reduction in friction compensates for the high energy consumption due to the tourbillon, allowing to maintain the original 68-hour autonomy of travel at full charge. On the back of the watch, water-resistant to 3 bar, the sapphire caseback allows you to observe the ambitious movement design of the new caliber 89900.
