Honoring an iconic model like La Esmeralda Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges means expressing admiration for an important watchmaking work both technically and artistically. It implies the recognition of Constant Girard's innovative vision for which movement becomes a design element in its own right; it involves the proclamation of loyalty to the values of excellence supported by a Maison and loyalty to a passionate, generous and perpetually inspiring founder.
Designed as a "secret" watch, for the first time the new interpretation of La Esmeralda features a caseback that protects the back of the model. This element further adds to the precious nature of this creation and promotes a special sense of privileged intimacy with the wearer. The entirely hand-engraved rose gold case incorporates the brilliantly executed motifs that adorned the 1889 model. Three horses then gallop across the outside of the caseback, while the inside is engraved with the inscriptions "Tourbillon" and "La Chaux-de -Fonds ", leaving enough room for personalization by the future owner.
The GP09400 caliber that powers the watch is developed and produced internally at the Girard-Perregaux manufacture. Thanks to its ingenious construction, the barrel has been resized to accommodate a longer spring and therefore offer a longer power reserve, min. 60 hours instead of the 48 hours of the traditional model.
