Named after the brightest of astronomical entities, it is an epic masterpiece with sparkling aerial views of the Manufacture's most iconic movement encased in a Swiss-made sapphire, available exclusively in just 8 pieces. Quasar Azure is a brilliantly bold expression of the company's technical mastery, contemporary design and rich heritage. Sapphire is extremely difficult to make due to its hardness. The case is formed, colored, milled and polished by the Girard-Perregaux craftsmen through a prolonged process, which takes over 200 hours. Set in the blue case, the tourbillon appears to float. The wearer is also spoiled with aerial views of the Neo Bridges, a Girard-Perregaux signature inspired by architectural structures.
Through these crystalline walls, the GP9400-1035 caliber reveals its openwork construction very similar to a star seen through a telescope. This haute horlogerie movement draws the eye like a black hole and explodes with light, illuminating the space between its components. Free of any opacity, Quasar allows photons to play freely on its matte surfaces and taut curves.
