Constant Escapement LM has an extremely advanced and strong design, with an exceptional presence on the wrist despite a 46 mm diameter.
The mechanism offers a new and convincing solution to the century-old concern of watchmakers: the precision and regularity of the functioning of a mechanical watch. It took over eight years of research and development to set up this system on a solid and reliable basis, so as to apply immediate and continuous "constant force". His name pays homage to two emblematic figures of the company; its founder, Constant Girard-Perregaux, and Luigi Macaluso who decided to promote this movement which was introduced as a working prototype in 2008: whatever the energy of the barrel is thus returned from the escapement to the regulator (balance) in a constant manner thanks to the integration into the escapement of an intermediate device, an extremely thin silicon tape. Covered by 3 patents, it is integrated in the manual caliber GP09100-0002, with a 1-week power reserve
